St. Michael :: Essays Papers

St. Michael Michael is first acquainted with humankind through the sacred texts written in the Bible. In the book of Daniel, Michael is presented as one of the boss rulers of Heaven just as the gatekeeper of the individuals of Israel (Daniel 10:13). His name is meant signify Who resembles unto God, and he is one of the seven lead celestial hosts of Heaven who is referenced in the Bible, in both the Old and New Testaments. As indicated by Rudolf Steiner, the originator of Anthroposophy and writer of the book, The Archangel Michael: His Mission and Ours, Michael was the inestimable being responsible for Intelligence, though Michael is related with light in different circles. This affiliation works itself into a hypothesis that Steiner clarifies in his book in a section titled, Michael, Arthur, and the Grail. In this hypothesis, he recommends that Michael and his hosts of holy messengers that go with him are generally occupants of the sun, and that from that point, Michael was the leader of grandiose insight (Steiner 271), and hence the supplier of the entirety of the considerations that people experienced. This insight descended upon them from the sun, which he bolsters with the acknowledgment that we think with our heads since that is the place the knowledge arrives from the start. Furthermore, in the hour of Alexander and Aristotle when individuals knew about considerations - in other words, of the substance of Intelligence inside them - they didn't view these contemplations as their own, independent idea: they felt that the musings were uncovered to them through the intensity of Michael, despite the fact that in that agnostic period this Michael Being was known by an alternate name (272). By roughly the ninth century A.D., in any case, it appeared that individuals were starting to see their very own knowledge with the goal that Michael was not, at this point the conveyor of this blessing. Presently knowledge originated from the earth and its occupants instead of the sun. However, Michael and his hosts have been attempting to recapture his organization of this knowledge by moving in and through the hearts of individuals (274). Steiner says that in prior occasions than these we live in, individuals made progress toward insight not by building up their brains, yet by searching out motivations given to them by inestimable powers, and his case of this is King Arthur.
